Friendship is one of our most beautiful and intimate relationships. Only with a friend can we share our lives, our hopes, and our joys. In the past, when people tended to live in one place for long periods of time, they placed a high value on friendship. Today, however, it is often difficult to have a true friend.

How do you see your singleness: Do you consider it to be a blessing? Or do you see it as a curse? A cross? A burden? A punishment? Do you feel God couldn't possibly understand what it's like to be single, or He's never impose singleness on people?
Perhaps you'll be surprised to learn that God has a very different perspective about singleness.

In the first part of our study on singles, we looked at the ministry of John the Baptist; Mary, the mother of Jesus; Jesus; and Paul. In this part of the study, we will consider Mary Magdalene, the woman of Samaria, and Mary and Martha of Bethany. We shall also consider some of the discrimination among singles.

The idea is too complex for our infinite minds, but as hard to understand as it sounds, the Bible presents God as three distinct Personalities - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In the first part of this study, we looked at some of the characteristics of the Father and His relationship to Jesus and us. In this part we will continue examining what the Bible says.
