Dee Bopp, President of South Missouri Area Team, and her team members took a chance recently when they heard about an opportunity Branson's Pizza Ranch was offering. For groups willing to clean tables, they could earn 10% of the night's earnings and any tips earned. By offering this amazing opportunity, not only could groups earn extra funds for their endeavors, the employees could be given a day off and business still carry on as usual.
Dee said, "Our Area Team has big ideas and what slows us down is a lack of funds. We also have generous hearts to give, but again, there is that lack of funds. When our VP of Public Relations, Darlene Beall, heard that the Pizza Ranch was offering this opportunity, we thought, why not us? We, along with some friends who joined us, jumped at the chance to earn extra funds for the team.
Was it hard work? Yes it was. Was it rewarding and fun? For sure! Not only did we deliver pizzas, we carried on conversations about what and who Aglow is and what a good God we serve. We made great connections in the community and earned money while doing it. Will we do it again? Absolutely!
Because God has put a principle into motion about giving and it coming back to you, we made the choice to sow into Elevate Branson, a faith-based organization that helps transition individuals and families out of poverty. Their mission fits in with our mission to see God touching and changing lives. We worked one night for the funds and as we sowed into Elevate Branson, it was like the funds multiplied by our partnership with them.
We will take another Monday night and this time, the funds we earn will go toward providing scholarships and expenses for our upcoming Spring Conference. Just as we have taken a leap of faith to go outside the box to participate in the opportunities God sends our way, we are watching as God grows our funds and new doors open into the community before us. Only God could take something so simple and cause it to provide so extraordinarily above and beyond our dreams."
What doors will you step through as God opens them before you in your community? What extraordinary things will your team find themselves doing this year? God, our Way Maker, goes before us, preparing the way to prosper us. Watch for the open doors!
